batteryuniversity.eu to run basic training courses and an Expert Forum at 2012 electrical energy storage (ees) Fair

Munich Trade Fairs is to forge closer ties between innovative technologies and mass production by staging a special event entitled electrical energy storage (ees) – Trade Fair for Batteries, Energy Storage Devices and Innovative Manufacturing.

The first ees will take place in Hall C2 of the Munich Trade Fair Centre from 13 to 16 November 2012 to coincide with the electronica Trade Fair. The ees will create an ideal platform for the rapidly growing mobile and stationary energy storage device market by demonstrating the whole of the value added chain which innovative battery and energy storage technology is able to deliver.

The specialist fair will be held in conjunction with a Expert Forum over several days, at which well-known speakers from the fields of industry, research and policymaking will debate the very latest developments and solutions. On 15 November, there will also be a special training day organised by batteryuniversity.eu.

The programme for the latter event includes a half-day course to be held from 9.30 am to 1.00 pm in Conference Room C22, Hall 2 (upper storey), at which participants will have an opportunity to learn about the basic principles of battery and charging technology and about lithium-ion batteries in particular. “batteryuniversity.eu is aiming both to provide information about current and future storage technology and to offer potential users practical assistance in dealing with modern battery technologies”, said company head Dr Jochen Mähliß.

 The course will be followed by an Expert Forum presented by batteryuniversity.eu. This will take place in Hall C2 from 1.30 pm to 5.30 pm and will focus on market figures and trends, Smart Grid Vehicle strategies, the latest developments in the area of stationary energy storage devices, safety, product life and performance of lithium-ion batteries, developments in the field of automotive systems and the topic of electro mobility in the Smart Grid – energy efficiency, energy storage devices and the energy revolution.
