AMS makes 0.32mm high ambient light sensor

AMS (Untepremstaetten, Austria) has introduced the TSL2584TSV, an ambient light sensor (ALS) in a through-silicon via (TSV) package which has a footprint 1.145mm by 1.66mm and a height of 0.32mm. The company claims it is half the size of other ALS.
The chip includes integrated on-chip interference filters to reject infrared light and produce a near-photopic response.
The TSL2584TSV is available for volume production today. It is priced at $0.58 each in order quantities of 1,000 pieces.
