Universal Serial Bus (USB) Cable Isolator Circuit Download White Paper 600Ko

The universal serial bus (USB) is rapidly becoming the standard interface for most PC peripherals due to superior speed flexibility and support of device hot swap. However, there is concern over how to provide the isolation required for connections to machines that control dangerous voltages. The ADuM4160 is designed primarily as an isolation element for a peripheral USB device; though there are occasions when it is useful to create an isolated cable function. This circuit isolates a peripheral device that already implements a USB interface. It will provide a convenient isolated USB cable solution that provides power to the peripheral as well as operation at a fixed speed.

This month, Trinamic Motion Control is offering you to win one of four TMCM-1043 development kits for its highly integrated, NEMA 17-compatible TMCM-1043 stepDancer stepper motor module.

Offering designers an easy-to-use PC-based GUI that allows one-click modification of motor drive current, micro-stepping and other key parameters, the intuitive kits are custom designed and developed for direct mounting on a NEMA 17 motor. Pre-programmed and pre-configured with all operating parameters to support standard 1.5A (peak) motors, the TMCM-1043 board uses Trinamic´s single-axis TMC2660 stepper motor driver IC, which integrates a motor pre-driver and power MOSFETs.
