50 Mbps photocouplers for high-speed industrial links

Toshiba's range of opto/photocouplers now includes a component with creepage and clearance distance of 8 mm and an isolation thickness of 0.4 mm for reinforced isolation; TLP2767 and TLP2367, for high-speed communications at data rates up to 50 Mbps.

TLP2767 is the first 50 Mbps product to achieve both a creepage and clearance distance of 8 mm and isolation thickness of 0.4 mm for reinforced isolation. It is housed in an SO6L package and guarantees isolation voltage of 5000 Vrms (min). TLP2367 is housed in a 5-pin small SO6 package, guaranteeing creepage and clearance distance of 5 mm (min) and isolation voltage of 3750 Vrms (min.). Both packages are 2.3 mm (max) low height packages and meet international safety standards including UL1577 and EN60747-5-5.

The photocouplers guarantee a propagation delay time of 20 nsec (max), pulse width distortion of 8 nsec (max) and propagation delay skew of 10 nsec (max). They can be used to reduce the dead time of various interfaces including inverters, which can contribute to improving the power efficiency of systems.
