DisplayPort display kit extends embedded computer hardware

February 07, 2014 // By Julien Happich
Distributor MSC Technologies has introduced an embedded DisplayPort display kit which enables users to immediately operate an Embedded DisplayPort (eDP) display from a suitable embedded computer hardware.

The display kit MSC C6-SK-eDP consists of a 13.3” Full-HD (1920 x 1080) display panel with embedded DisplayPort connector and the appropriate connection cable to the embedded computer hardware.

Embedded DisplayPort is considered to be the next pervasive standard for LCD connection technology. It combines very high speed graphics data exchange with embedded control signalling and multiple power lines so that a single standardized cable can be used to operate any eDP display from the appropriate computer hardware. This provides a strong advantage compared to the current LVDS connection that usually requires two cables which are not standardized, so that even different TFT panels from the same manufacturer may require different cables and connectors.
