Dual precision sense amp simplifies current monitoring in industrial applications

Maxim has posted details of a 2-channel, high-voltage, current-sense amplifier; its combination of high accuracy and operation at 76V will assist you in implementing precision current monitoring in a wide range of applications, including industrial control, backplane power distribution and power management in general.

MAX44285 is a dual-channel high-side current-sense amplifier with precision accuracy specifications of input offset voltage (VOS) of less than 10µV (max) and gain error less than 0.1% (max).

It features an input common-mode voltage range from 2.7V to 36V with 80 kHz of small-signal bandwidth, which suits it to interfacing with a SAR ADC for multichannel multiplexed data acquisition systems. Under variants coded L, T, F and H, you can select fixed gains of 12.5, 20, 50 or 100 V/V, respectively.

The MAX44285 operates over the -40°C to +125°C temperature range and comes in 1 x 2-mm, 8-bump WLP and 8-pin µMAX packages.
