Gigabit Ethernet design kit

Lantiq and Würth Elektronik eiSos have a turnkey demo kit that shows how to add high speed connectivity to any home appliance.

The jointly developed design kit is intended to illustrate easy and fast implementation of Gigabit Ethernet in a broad range of products. It provides all necessary information to understand the demands of an Ethernet hardware design, along with an easy to use 1 Gbps Ethernet demonstration board. By implementing Ethernet, manufacturers get both Internet functionality and a high-speed standardized connection to plug-in service and maintenance devices.

The kit uses Lantiq’s Gigabit Ethernet technology with good energy efficiency, highest integration and smallest form factor. The overall solution, with leading Ethernet and passive components from Würth Elektronik eiSos, proves that Internet/Ethernet connectivity can be realised with less than $3 additional bill-of-material (in high quantities).

The USB-powered demo board is about the size of a credit card (54 x 92 mm). You can connect the board to PCs and achieve data rates of up to 1 Gbps bi-directional. Using the Lantiq XWAY PHY11G in a very small VQFN-48 package (7 x 7 mm), the board saves energy due to compliance with IEEE’s energy efficient Ethernet standard.

The "High Speed Connection to the World" kit can be directly ordered for €129 per kit.
