Handheld tester for M2M and sensor networks

Before deployment, the wireless communications behavior of M2M applications needs to be tested and validated. The Field Test Devices from French manufacturer Adeunis RF offer an easy way to perform these measurements. The handheld devices are now available from distributor APC Smartwave.

The ready-to-use instruments can be used worldwide and are available in two formats: a pulse unit and a sensor unit. Both will provide a connection to any operated network using Sigfox and LoRaWAN V1.0.

When connected the device transmits through the used network and the radio frames can be viewed on a web application. This enables users to check all operating information including GPS co-ordinates, temperature and battery status. It will also provide critical network data covering: uplink, downlink and SF Packet Error Rates.

With a large LCD screen and a range of up to 15km, the devices feature high precision GPS and incorporate a 10-hour rechargeable battery which can be charged using a mobile phone charger. The units weigh 150g, can operate in temperatures from -20°C to +75°C and are certified to EN300-200 V2012.

Besides M2M applications, the Field Test Devices are also ideal to be used in testing applications related to sensor networks, asset tracking, smart buildings, metering, and security.
