High-Q capacitors suitable for ADAS and V2X

Murata’s GCQ series of high Q monolithic ceramic capacitors (MLCC) is aimed at automotive V2X (vehicle-to-anything communications) applications. Available in capacitance values from 0.1 to 47 pF, a C0G temperature characteristic and a rated voltage of 50 Vdc, the series conforms to the requirements of the automotive components standard AEC-Q200.

Meeting the needs of the DSRC IEEE 802.11p V2X communications standard, for both vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2I) and vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) applications, mainly in Europe and North America using the 5.9 GHz band, the GCQ series can be used for DC filtering and RF matching. In particular, the self-resonance frequency characteristic of the 2.2 pF device suits DC filtering according to the DSRC IEEE 821.11p requirement.

The GCQ series is packaged in a 0402 size (1.0 x 0.5 mm) and has an operating temperature range from -55 to + 125C. The high Q rating is achieved by the use of copper internal electrodes.
