SilMach SA (Besançon, France), a developer of high torque micromotors, has signed an industrialization contract with Tronics Group (Crolles, France) for the large-scale production of silicon-based MEMS.

SilMach is an R&D organization that works with the French defense agency amongst others and specializes in hybrid micromachines such as nano unmanned aeriel vehicles.

"Tronics quickly established itself as the privileged partner to address our targeted markets with high volumes, by demonstrating its ability to ensure the production ramp up requested by our customers, while controlling in parallel the technology transfer and the qualification of our processes," said Patrice Minotti, CEO of SilMach, in a statement issued by Tronics.

Located in Crolles, near Grenoble (France) and in Dallas, Texas (United States), Tronics posted revenue of €7.8 million (about $8.8 million) in 2015. It has 92 employees, of whom 55 are engineers and scientists.
