Ultrahaptics (Bristol, England), founded in 2013, is pioneering the use of ultrasound for touchless haptics. Yassaie has experience of both pre- and post-IPO technology business and a wealth of senior executive relationships, said Ultrahaptics.
Sir Hossein Yassaie graduated from the University of Birmingham with a PhD in electronics and communication, before embarking on his career working at Inmos, STMicroelectronics and Videologic, which became Imagination Technologies in 1999.
"Along with the technology licensing experience that he brings, Hossein also understands what it is to be part of a small company with big aspirations," said Steve Cliffe, CEO of Ultrahaptics, in statement.
"As a pioneer in the world of haptic response, Ultrahaptics is set to revolutionise the way human and machine interact and will bring the new and much-needed dimension of virtual touch to the emerging and hugely important VR and AR markets too," said Yassaie.
