A reliable plug-and-play solution is what TE Connectivity promises to the users of its new solderless LED socket for Sharp Mini Zenigata LEDs. With the so called SMIZ socket currently introduced into the market TE enhances its solderless lighting solutions portfolio.

The two-piece SMIZ socket from TE Connectivity enables mechanic and electric connection to the LED. This makes the device very easy to handle enables fast installation. Since the socket is not welded to chip-on-board LEDs, users can expect a uniform, reliable connection which can be implemented without requiring specific skills. Since no soldering or welding is involved, no heat is generated, and no solder flux can pollute the light emitting surface. Thus, the risk of damaging the LED is minimized. M2 screws and fixing pins locate the LED correctly to its proper position at the heat sink.

The solderless SMIZ socket meets the RoHS requirements. It suits for a broad range of applications, such as:

  1. LED replacement lamps for interior and exterior lighting (retrofit)
  2. Building lighting
  3. Reading lamps,
  4. Pendant luminaires
  5. Mobile light installations
  6. Area and surface lighting
