Wireless connectivity solution fits to clamp meters

To enable wireless connectivity, the Agilent U1210A Series clamp meter is now compatible with the optional Agilent U1177A IR-to-Bluetooth adapter.

With a range of up to 10 meters, this capability enables measurements of large currents at a safe distance. It also eliminates the need to travel back and forth to electrical distribution rooms to check measurement results.

To enhance safety during the probing of high-voltage circuits, the Mobile Meter and Mobile Logging apps both include a “voice out” capability. This feature provides an audible output of DMM readings through the text-to-speech engine in the Android device, and the voice can be directed to the device's speaker or a Bluetooth headset.

The Mobile Meter application supports data monitoring over longer distances with a remote-hosting mode.

This allows the user to monitor measurements through a Web browser running on a PC or tablet within the same network. It also lets them share measurement data with co-workers in other locations.

Agilent’s wireless remote connectivity solution now supports a total of 15 handheld models in the U1200 Series of handheld DMMs and clamp meters. The applications run on most Android-based smartphones or tablets as well as Microsoft Windows-based PCs. The enhanced apps are available now as free downloads from the Android Market and the Agilent website.
